Welcome to the April installment of the Remarkably Created Blog Hop where our theme is FLOWERS! I'm featuring a handmade card with You've Got This rubberstamp set which is on the 2018 Retiring List from Stampin' Up!
Most of us card-makers love flowers:) They are such an important design element in just about everything creative: fashion, home decor, commercial design, etc. And of course, they are one of the very best things in nature. There is a flower to suit just about everyone's taste. It's no wonder they are a staple in our card-making.
I created this handmade card for my Stampin' Blends online club. You can see another card I made with this same stamp set here. It's one of my top picks for the 2018 Stampin' Up! Retiring List.
I'll highlight just a few things about today's handmade card:
- I stamped just the flower head all around the edges of my Crumb Cake Card Stock with Crumb Cake ink for a subtle tone on tone effect that is reminiscent of a toile design.
- I chose unexpected colors for my flower: Bermuda Bay for the flower itself and Crumb Cake for the stamp and leaves. By using lots of Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla in my design, the Bermuda Bay flower really pops.
- I used Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blends Marker along with both Dark and Light Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write Markers which gave me 3 shades of this gorgeous blue to work with.
Please note that Stampin' Blends Markers have hit the market with such gusto that they are currently unavailable to order (due to the factory not being able to keep up with our love for them!). Steady on: they will be available once again in a very full range of colors in the new annual catalog which debuts on June 1. I can't wait!
Thanks so much for stopping by today. All Stampin' Up! supplies are listed and linked to my online store below for your convenience. As we are in the Retiring List period (until May 31), product availability is limited as retiring items are “as supplies last”. Shop today to avoid disappointment!
