Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! For today's post, here are my Stampin' Up! Easter projects for this year, 2013. The little flower pot and basket are gracing my dining table as my family celebrates Easter dinner. They are perfectly sized centerpieces as there is still plenty of room for the big spread of food, and nothing is so tall that it will obstruct the view of family members as we enjoy one another's company and share God's goodness over dinner, conversation, and celebration. My Stampin' Up! Easter projects feature several new products from the Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog and my favorite tool ever, the Big Shot!

I modeled the Easter basket after a similar basket made by Shelli Gardner with the Petal Cone Die about 2 years ago. I saw it on her blog and was totally inspired to make a similar one but bring it into my Easter theme. You can see her creation here. I wanted the cross to be front and center of my Easter basket. It's the center of Easter, so I wanted it central in my design. And the egg in my flower pot is embossed in gold, like the cross on my little basket. I was going for an elegant look. Summer Starfruit and gold embossing with accents of white were just the ticket!

Pinwheels!

Pinwheels are such a fun toy/prop/party accessory, and I'm featuring them today for my Saturday Sample. The Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog has the darling Pinwheel die(129411), shown here, to help you make little, mini pinwheels effortlessly to adorn your handmade cards, scrapbook pages, party favors and more with the freshness embodied in pinwheels. They evoke fresh air, blue skies, soft breezes, and relaxation. What's not to like?!

The sky on this very cute handmade card was created by making a little cloud template. Simply punch out a couple scallop circle punches, stick them together to make a cloud formation, and then place on your Whisper White card base and start sponging. This is great for scrapbook pages, too!

Secret Garden Bundle Again

As I said yesterday, I plan to highlight the lovely Secret Garden Bundle (131100 wood mount, 131099 clear mount) in the Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog over the next 10 days or so. Here's another of Elisha's creations, and it is very different from yesterday's handmade card. Today's card is very soft and feminine. She has made it into a handmade Mother's Day card, but you could easily swap out the greeting to Happy Birthday, Congratulations, etc. Since this handmade card features a bouquet of flowers, it's suitable for any occasion where you would give flowers! These paper flowers don't fade, cause allergies, wilt, or get yucky in the bottom of a vase. I'm not dissing fresh flowers as I truly love them! Just pointing out some of the benefits of little paper flower bouquets in a handmade card:)

This handmade Mother's Day card is done entirely with our Subtles Collection color palette. That includes the card stock, ink, and ribbon--such is the superb color coordination deliverd via Stampin' Up! The soft, sweet color scheme and design deliver a great message of sweet femininity. I love the way Elisha gave the flowers extra texture by stamping them, running them through the Big Shot with the Secret Garden Framelit Dies to cut them out, then scrunched them up into a ball and then flattened them out again. I'm not sure if that is an actual rubberstamping technique. I call it paper scrunching, and it delivers great results!

Saturday Sample - Sale-a-Bration

For today's Saturday Sample, I'm sharing a swap I made featuring Sale-a-Bration's Sycamore Street DSP for my monthly Southern Sweet Stampers (my demonstrator group) meeting. I love the bright cheeriness as well as incredible versatility of this DSP! I coupled it with a couple of items from the Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration Scrapbooking

I love that one of the free Stampin' Up! product selections during Sale-a-Bration (Jan. 22-Mar. 22) is Designer Series Paper (aka dsp) as it is every scrapbooker's best friend. Every pack of dsp is 12 pages of double sided 12 x 12 paper, 2 each of 6 designs (on both sides) for a total of 12 designs and 12 sheets! That's a lot of variety and a lot of pages...all coordinated to work together. Here, I've used the coordinating Sycamore Street dsp and Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack for my color scheme as well as scrapbook page elements for Sale-a-Bration scrapbooking. And I paired those papers and embellishments with the beautiful Daydream Medallions rubberstamp set and coordinating Floral Framelits dies for easy scrapbooking with plenty of style.

These are the scrapbook pages we made at my January free scrapbook class. At each monthly free scrapbook class, we make a full, 2-page 12 x 12 layout and a 3D project (like a bookmark, treat holder, favor, etc.). Core'dinations Cardstock

I really love the Core'dinations cardstock and its many wonders! Today I'm sharing a quick and easy card made special by Core'dinations cardstock. In the Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog, Core'dinations Cardstock is available in Pool Party, Primrose Petals (shown here), and Real Red.

My finger is in this photo because I find photographing glitter very challenging! It's hard to get all that dazzle to really show up in my pictures, and Dazzling Diamonds glitter really does dazzle with its sparkly wonderfulness:) Here, it brought just the right touch to my Flower Garden Embossing Folder flowers.

The main feature of Core'dinations cardstock is its unique ability to be sanded. For the handmade card shown here, I ran the Primrose Petals Core'dinations cardstock through the Big Shot with the Flower Garden Embossing Folder and then sanded it to achieve the two-tone look that really brings the dry embossed image to a whole new level. That is the beauty of Core'dinations cardstock! (Scroll down for a full supply list.)

Since Core'dinations cardstock is 12 x 12, they make perfect scrapbook pages. They are a bit like the Textured Cardstock we used to have, but they are not as heavily textured--which makes stamping on them easier--and of course they have a light colored core, which is the major point of the Core'dinations. But I just wanted to point out that you can easily use this cardstock as is. Since we cannot purchase Pool Party or Primrose Petals 12 x 12 cardstock alone (they are both In-Colors so they come in assorted packages), the Core-dinations provides a way to get those colors in bulk:) I like it!

Stampin' Up! Valentine Treat

To wish you a Happy Valentine's Day today, I have a little Stampin' Up! Valentine treat to share with you. Since it's coming to you via the internet, it is calorie free! In real life, there is definitely chocoloate:) And I was totally inspired by one of Angie Juda's projects when I made this one.

This is one of the treats we made in my rubberstamp clubs and is a great example of the fun projects we make in club. At each rubberstamp club meeting, we make 2 different handmade cards and a 3D item. The 3D items are the "little somethings" like this Stampin' Up! Valentine treat but include other fun treat holders, bookmarks, paper flowers, picture holders, and more. The 3D items are one of the "core values" of my rubberstamp clubs:) In addition to showing the incredible versatility of papercrafting, they allow us to use the supplies we have already gathered for card-making and use them in another way...bringing surprise and delight to our friends, co-workers and loved ones.

Dress Up Framelit Dies-Saturday Sample

For today's Saturday Sample, here's a handmade card that combines the fun and whimsy of the Dress Up Framelits with the beautiful Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper (papers free during Sale-a-Bration, Jan. 22-Mar. 22). This is a great example of the seamless coordination that Stampin' Up! makes possible in our handmade cards and other projects through products that work together effortlessly. Today's card was created by my swapping buddy June.

Scentsational Season Goes Beyond Christmas

For today's Saturday sample, I'm sharing another great swap I received at the Hilton Head Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip in September. The creator's info got separated from this sample, so I don't know who made it to attribute creative credit to them. I love the elegant look in this handmade card that comes via the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder and neutral color scheme.

Although many of us send out lots of Christmas cards, it's also nice to send handmade cards for other reasons during this wonderful holiday season and even beyond. And I love to do that with winter images.

Big Shot Holiday Stocking Die

Here are two little denim Christmas stockings I created last year using the Stampin' Up! exclusive Big Shot Holiday Stocking Bigz L Die. They are a his and hers country style pair of Christmas stockings that measure 5-1/2" x 4-3/4" and are very easy to make. These are no-sew Stampin' Up! fabric projects, so they are quick and easy.

Because the Holiday Stocking Die is a Bigz Die, it will cut many different materials. Notice the leather on both stockings above. I had some leather scraps and thought I would try them out on the Big Shot. I was elated with the results! The denim came from an old pair of jeans, so they have an authentic, worn look. And the jeans were headed to Good Will. Instead, I decided to put them into my scrap bin and repurpose them. I adhered the front and back of these denim Christmas stockings with fabric glue and also attached the leather cuffs and trim that way. Super easy and no sewing!

The trims are also from Stampin' Up! The lace is the 5/8" Crochet trim (118481) and the holly leaves and snowflake are the Winter Wishes Stitched Felt pieces from last year's Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. Although they are retired, they are still available in the Stampin' Up! Clearance rack! You get 16 pieces for just $3.99!

Scentsational Season Candy Canes

This gorgeous handmade Christmas card was created by one of my swapping buddies, Bobbie Ganley, and she uses the candy cane image from the Scentsational Season rubberstamp set as a design element in a very elegant, festive card. I thought I would share it today for my Saturday Sample.

Scentsational Season Gingerbread Men

I adore gingerbread men, and the ones in the Scentsational Season bundle (stamps and coordinating framelits) are so much fun to use! This handmade Christmas card comes together quickly thanks to my favorite stamping tool: the Big Shot.

In addition to loving the Scentsational Season bundle, I love the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I have used this folder again and again. It creates a deeply embossed woodgrain image. I think that when you emboss the Early Espresso Core'dinations card stock with this folder and then sand it with the Stampin' Sanding System, like I did above, it truly looks like bark. So cool!

Perfectly Preserved in Elegant Vintage Style

This gorgeous handmade card is a swap I received from one of my trusty swapping buddies Dorrie, and she takes the Perfectly Preserved rubberstamp set and brings in an elegant, vintage style. To me, it's more elegant than shabby chic, and I love it! Dorrie is very, very creative. I love the way she combined the Cannery Framelits with the Apothecary Accents Framelits. All those shapes combine to form a lovely, unique design. And the Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons look gorgeous with the little bits of Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper underneath. That is a design technique I plan to use:)

Perfectly Preserved rubberstamp set is one of the fantastic new rubberstamp sets in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. Well, it may not be considered new now since the catalog debuted in August, but you know what I mean!

The little pear image is stamped and then cut out with the Big Shot and coordinating framelits--Cannery Framelits. Dorrie stamped and die cut two of the pears and layered them on top of each other, with one folded, to create a great 3D effect in this handmade card. Isn't it darling??!!!

For this 5 x 7 handmade Thanksgiving Card, the main elements are from the Autumn Accents Die in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. It's a handmade card made almost entirely with with the Big Shot, my favorite tool for creating handmade, heartfelt cards. It immediately brings touchable texture to my handmade card.
