By the Bay Beach Scene Card

By the Bay stamp set, free during Sale-a-Bration, is a must-have in my opinion!  I have loved using it and made this By the Bay beach scene card on my Facebook Live today, pairing it with Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper (also free during Sale-a-Bration).

You can see the live demonstration here on my Facebook Live, 3-25-19.  I used a simple, straightforward watercolor technique on watercolor paper.  I made the simple version and then shared the stepped up version.

Fable Friends with Painted Seasons DSP

Fable Friends Duck 2

Fable Friends Squirrel 2

Fable Friends cling rubber-stamp set caught my eye the first time I saw Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog 2019.  The images are reminiscent of Beatrix Potter illustrations (best known for Peter Rabbit).  I'm a huge Beatrix Potter fan and have a collection of figurines I collected during the 9 years we lived in England.

I've been using the heck out of Painted Seasons DSP!  The gorgeous handprinted, seasonal prints are outstanding.  For today's projects, I flipped the paper over and used all 4 of the "B side" of Painted Seasons and discovered they are just as lovely as the "A side"!

I demonstrated these projects on my Facebook Live (3-24-19).  They use similar elements and just a few Stampin' Blends for simple coloring.  They are super fun to make!  Click here to see the video demonstration.  The written pdf instructions are below.

  1. Fable Friends Duck Card (she might be a goose!)
  2. Fable Friends Squirrel Card

Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper is available FREE with a $50 purchase through March 31st.  I think it's a must-have for any crafter's paper collection!

Painted Seasons DSP Facebook Live Projects-Birthday, Easter, and Christmas!

As promised, here are the projects I shared on Facebook Live (3-23-19) showcasing the gorgeous Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper (free with a $50 order through March 31st) and More Than Words, an exclusive stamp set also available only through March 31st.

These 3 projects show the amazing versatility of both Painted Seasons DSP and More Than Words stamp set.  I made 3 different projects for 3 different occasions with the same set of designer papers and the same stamp!

The gradient effect I achieved on the word "wishes" comes about through the use of 2 different stamps that layer onto one another.  They are photopolymer so you can see right through them making it super quick and easy

The Whisper White Cardstock was run through the Big Shot using the new Stitched Rectangle Framelits for a nice bit of textured finishing.

I have pdf tutorials below.  Even though the cards are made with identical cuts of paper, I created separate tutorials for ease of use--and files!  Click here to see the video.

  1. Painted Seasons Birthday Card
  2. Painted Seasons Christmas Card
  3. Painted Seasons Easter Treats Pouch

Tea Together with Petal Promenade DSP

Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper is a showstopper!  I love how it pairs with Tea Together Cling Stamp Set (Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog) in my teapot card that is full of femininity with a touch of luxury.

I demonstrated this card on my Facebook Live, 3-21-19.  It's quick and easy but looks really elegant:)  Petal Promenade DSP is an annual catalog item and is available free as we approach the end of Sale-a-Bration.  It was substituted for some of the SAB free items that sold out, and I think it's a great choice!  I shared several other cards pairing Tea Together Cling Stamp Set and Petal Promenade DSP on my Facebook Live, so be sure to check it out!

Here's the pdf tutorial with all the measurements and instructions for my quick and easy--but elegant--Tea Together card.

All supplies used on my teapot card are listed and linked to my online store below for your convenience.  Place a $50 order, and you can choose the Petal Promenade DSP for your free Sale-a-Bration reward!

Dear Doily Sympathy Card for #GDP178

Global Design
I have a card for this week's Global Design Project 178 Sketch Challenge, #GDP178.  GDP issues a weekly challenge with some sort of creative prompt.  I love a good sketch, so here goes!

I created a quick and easy sympathy card with the new Country Floral Embossing Folder (free Sale-a-Bration Reward with a $50 order), special words in a beautiful font from Dear Doily Occasions Catalog photopolymer stamp set, and Tranquil Tide Velvet Ribbon.  Let me point out just a few things in my quick and easy sympathy card for #GDP178.

  • I love browns in sympathy cards.  They bring a somber tone but are much gentler than black.  Losing loved ones is hard, and a somber but not depressing mood is what I try to create in handmade sympathy cards.
  • Sponging ink on the Country Floral Embossing Folder really brings out the texture and adds richness without being flashy or showy--characteristics I eschew in handmade sympathy cards.
  • Velvet ribbon provides the perfect elegant, understated touch for my sympathy card.  I used Tranquil Tide Velvet ribbon, but Stampin' Up! velvet ribbon is also available in Rich Razzleberry, and that one is actually available right now as a free Sale-a-Bration item.

Having handmade sympathy cards on hand means I am prepared to offer comfort to those experiencing loss.  I hope you are inspired to build your stash of sympathy cards.  All products used in today's card are listed and linked below for your convenience.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

You can see lots of other great ideas using this same sketch here at the Global Design Project page.
