Encircled in Friendship Card Idea

I created this Encircled in Friendship card as part of a Facebook Live demonstration to showcase how to use the Encircled in Beauty dies which coordinate with Encircled in Friendship stamp set.  They are bundle priced in the annual catalog with Encircled in Friendship (10% savings!).  The dies also coordinate with Encircled in Warmth stamp set, holiday catalog.  Click here to see a card idea using Encircled in Warmth.

Encircled in Friendship bundle is also the feature of my monthly Cards With a Twist Class by Mail.

All Stampin' Up! supplies are listed and linked below.  Be sure to watch my video above for tips and tricks on using Encircled in Beauty dies as well as making this particular Encircled in Friendship card idea.

I do live card-making and papercrafting demonstrations twice a week, every Tuesday and Thursday, at  Be sure to like my page and set our notifications to remind you.

Stampin' Up! Holiday Packaging Idea

I love making pretty packaging to make ordinary things seem special.  My holiday packaging idea will elevate your treats--healthy or indulgent--so they make a big impression and help the people in your life know how much you value them.  My holiday packaging idea also works for small gifts like mittens, socks, scarf, jewelry, etc.

I created this package which measures 7" x 4-1/2" with a 1" gusset to hold a single serving package of turkey jerky.  I love healthy snacks, and jerky is perfect for people on keto or other diets, people who like to work out, diabetics, hunters, or even kids.  I bought my single serving package of turkey jerky at Dollar Tree for just $1!

littledelightsstampinupcandyrattrayI used Little Delights stamp set on both packages (Holiday Catalog 2021), and there is a lot to love in this sweet little stamp set.  With pretty, scripty font greetings for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas plus birthday and thank you, there is a lot of "bang for your buck."  Top that off with sweet images for all those greetings and you have a bargain stamp set for just $17.

All supplies are listed and linked below.  In addition to making both these cute holiday packages with the same stamp set, I used the same DSP as well:  Heartwarming Hugs.  I love the versatility!

Wintry Color Combo for Trip Achievers Blog Hop

stampinuptripacheiverscandyrattrayWelcome to the November installment of our Trip Achievers Blog Hop where Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world connect to share awesome projects to inspire YOU!  This is Candy Rattray,, and the full list of linked blogs is at the bottom of this post.  Thanks for being here!

For today's share I'm using a wintry color combo that is fresh, bright, and versatile.

I designed this card for my November Stamp a Stack and it works for both Christmas and New Years.  I like that!  But I also have some December birthdays, so I changed out the greeting and voila--I have wintry birthday cards!

In addition to a fabulous color scheme, the fancy tag in the middle steals the show.  My top tip for using the Ornate Frames dies (which are a must-have IMHO) is to use wax paper between the die and cardstock.  The very intricate--and beautiful!--tag will release with ease.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.   Be sure to follow me on for twice weekly FB Live demonstrations and YouTube.  I love to share and inspire!

Now head on over to the next blog, and keep on hopping!

Christmas Countdown Blog Hop with Tidings & Trimmings

Christmas Countdown Blog HopWelcome to the Christmas Countdown Blog Hop where Stampin' Up! demonstrators connect to help YOU get inspired for the many different ways to count down the last days till Christmas.

One of the biggest parts of my personal Christmas preparations is making and sending Christmas cards.  This is something I've done my entire adult life, and it's a true passion.  That became an even bigger passion once I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  Now I send cards to friends and family plus customers and team members, so my list is now in the hundreds:)

Each handmade Christmas card is made with lots of love and care.  Then they are personally signed, and many include little notes.  But I have to limit myself on the personal notes as I always have a lot to say :):) and I can get bogged down in writing and not get them in the mail!

Quick and easy Christmas cards is my jam, but that doesn't mean my handmade Christmas cards don't have lots of style!  Today's share is one of many I will send.  It's a simple fun fold aka fancy fold card which makes it seem fancier than it actually is:)  Tidings & Trimmings suite  used and is perfect for classic Christmas card style.

I have everything listed and linked below for your convenience.  I hope you are making lots of handmade Christmas cards!  If your list to send is shorter than mine, consider donating to your local police or fire station, St. Jude's Hospital, your local nursing homes, etc.

One of my team members donates sets of 4 handmade cards with postage stamps on envelopes for a local nursing home.   The residents are so blessed to be able to send BEAUTIFUL Christmas cards to friends and family!

Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories & More for Winter Holidays Blog Hop

Blog hop-winterWelcome to the Winter Holiday Blog Hop where demonstrators around the globe connect to inspire and share with YOU!  There is so much celebrate during the winter months, and I'm focusing on BAKE COOKIES DAY--today!  How fun is that for a holiday??!!!

Baking cookies is a big part of American Christmas and Hanukkah celebrations, and Stampin' Up! has an entire suite (Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite) that hones in on the cuteness and fun of all things sweet during the winter holidays.

My project today is one of the Make & Takes included in my Creative Escape Fall Retreat.  I used Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite as my theme, and it's so fun for a big event!

stampinuppackagingchristmascookiescandyrattraygingerbread&peppermintmemories&moreThis super stylish packaging is the epitome of quick and easy paper crafting!  Did you know that ALL Stampin' Up! packaging is food safe??!!!  Yes!

I packaged 4 cookies in a Printed Gusseted Cello bag and tied the top with Simply Elegant Trim.  Add the recipe card from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories & More card pack and you have a fabulous gift for:

  • teachers
  • neighbors
  • hospital staff
  • police & first responders
  • mailmen
  • hair dressers
  • Sunday school peeps

I love doing homemade gifts for Christmas, and cute packaging makes all the difference.

How to Use Arctic Bear Bundle

arcticbearsstampinupcandyrattrayHave you noticed the Arctic Bear Bundle in the 2021 Holiday Mini Catalog?  It's a beauty!  Perfect for:

  • winter cards
  • masculine cards
  • cards for wildlife lovers all year
  • monochromatic cards
  • cool technique cards

The cling rubber stamp set has gorgeous, detailed images and excellent greetings.  Add in the coordinating dies and you can make really cool scenes.

I created the 2 cards here on my weekly Teach Me Tuesday Facebook Live (2PM CT @  The Balmy Blue card uses just the Arctic Bear stamp set while I brought in the Arctic Bear dies in the second card.

On the first card I used the Wonderful Snowflakes as a stencil while I used Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper for a background.  I like them both, but they are definitely different looks.

Tell me your favorite in the comments section below!

All items used are listed and linked below.  Be sure to set your Facebook reminders so you can join me for Teach Me Tuesday at @ 2PM CT every single week for stamping fun!  I download that recording to (YouTube click here and subscribe to my channel) so you can catch me there if you are not on Facebook.  Have no fear--you can find me!  LOL!

Can you spot the difference in my 2 cards?  There are slight differences, and I really like them both.  "Spot the difference" is one of those super fun childhood games that I still enjoy:)

  1. Card bases are Blackberry Bliss in card #1, Rich Razzleberry in card #2.
  2. Contrasting layer for label is Rich Razzleberry in card #1, Blackberry Bliss in card #2.
  3. Greeting is slightly lower in card #1, dead center in card #2.

#simplestamping with Peaceful Deer

Peaceful Deer stamp set is a natural for #simplestamping.  I created 2 Peaceful Deer cards, and the first one is just stamps, ink, and paper.  I love our Basic White Note Cards (size:  5" x 3-1/2", mails for a single forever stamp in the US).  They are affordable ($7 for 20--with envelopes!) and they are the thick Basic White Cardstock.

Peaceful Deer makes the cutest scenes.  These are perfect beginner cards, so anyone can make these!  I demonstrate #simplestamping every Thursday @2PM CT at  Please join me!

For the second card I I stepped it up just a bit by adding some ink with Blending Brushes for sky as well as Designer Series Paper in the background and on the envelope flap and then finished it off with Holiday Rhinestones.  Quick, easy, and pretty!

Which is your favorite?

  • Simple OR
  • Stepped Up
