Sentimental Swirls photopolymer stamp set is ideal for beginner card makers as well as casual, and avid crafters.  Although there are loads of design possibilities, I created this simple, sweet birthday card for my online card class (click here to see 4 different cards demonstrated using all January-June 2022 and Sale-a-Bration stamp sets) with a bold, bright color scheme.

This is a stamps, ink, and paper card (aka #simplestamping) with the small additions of Designer Series Paper (which I think is one of the best things we can put in the hands of our beginner stampers) and the tiny brass butterfly embellishments.  You could easily swap out the DSP for Basic White Cardstock and leave off the brass butterflies for a true #simplestamping project with a slightly cleaner, trimmer look.

Welcome to the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop where we are sharing projects with a Throwback Thursday theme.  How fun is that??!!!  I'm casing a card I made in 2018 using the gorgeous new Artfully Layered Bundle in the January-June Mini Catalog.  It's part of a full suite called Artfully Composed.  With loads of leafy, tropical images and modern mixed fonts, it's a crowd pleaser with loads of versatility.

HA few things about my card:

• The colors in Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper (DSP) are rich and luscious.  I chose Evening Evergreen, Old Olive, and Calypso Coral to use as accent colors in my die-cuts and used a micro-layer of Just Jade to set off the DSP
• A little twine bow gave me just a touch of softness.  It's from the Fan Bakers Twine set of 3 twines.  Although they are part of another suite, all 3 colors work well with Artfully Composed DSP.
• I'm in love with the Faux Sea Glass shapes!  They are tiny and just right for so many projects.  I used 3 of the green ones to bring attention to my greeting.

I'm in love with the whole Sweet Talk Suite in the new January-July Mini Catalog.  Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper is super fun, and I knew that a book fold aka bookbinding fold would be a great way to showcase it with a fun fold/fancy fold handmade card design.

Book Fold is a favorite fancy fold design for me.  The fact that you use a 4" x 1" and 4" x 4" piece of DSP on the card front makes for easy cuts, easy designing, and a great way to showcase beautiful DSP.

Each Thursday I do a Facebook Live demonstration (at facebook.com/sweetstamper) featuring #simplestamping.  Today I debuted the new Island Vibes (distinktive Sale-a-Bration stamp set free with a $50 order thru Feb. 28).  At first glance, Island Vibes didn't "call out" to me.  I chose to work with it today because it was my least favorite Sale-a-Bration stamp set.  After working with it, I love it!

I employed the "kissing technique" to bring several shades of green to my already beautifully detailed tropical leaves.  THIS is what makes my #simpletamping card work so well.  With just stamps, ink, and paper, I achieved beautiful color and detail that is interesting.  It's a perfect beginner card for new card makers.

My #simplestamping card is perfect as a #masculine card.  In fact, one of my team members was on the live demonstration with me and commented how much she is always needing masculine cards for her local VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) auxiliary.  Guys need encouragement, and what an awesome way to share a simple card-- that is obviously handmade--with a few kind words written inside.

The note card size is perfect to write a short note and super affordable.  You get 20 pre-scored cards and envelopes in a package for just $7.00.  That is an amazing bargain.  If you plan to mail the cards, they go for a single forever stamp in the U.S. The finished size is 5" x 3-1/2"

To step up my #simplestamping card, I made it traditional card size (5-1/2" x 4-1/4" finished size made from a 1/2 sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock) in the very bold and bright Magenta Madness In Color.  I then used a 5-1/4" x 4" Basic White cardstock panel for stamping the leaves, once again using the "kissing technique".  Be sure to watch my video at the end of this post to see the technique as well as the card making demonstration.

Adding a super ornate tag of Basic White cardstock looks almost like eyelet lace but still keeps the look very "clean".  The finishing touch--the brand new faux sea glass shapes.  I love them!  You get a lot of them (they are tiny so you need to use a few for a nice effect:) in Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam, and Clear.  I'm going to love using them, and recommend you put them on you next order.

I'm in love with Ranunculus Romance Bundle--it caught my eye on my first pass through the new January-June Mini Catalog (aka Spring Catalog).  For my first creation using Ranunculus Romance Bundle I decided to go with a Brights color scheme.  Brights are not my first choice as a rule, and I normally use one of the Brights Collection mixed in with other colors.  But Ranunculus are bright in real life, so I decided to get out of my comfort zone and go for it!

For today's card I wanted to really concentrate on the many stamps in the Ranunculus Romance stamp set.  If you like stamping, this is a phenomenal set with 10 outstanding cling stamps. 

I used 2 different stamps to create a background on my Granny Apple Green card base with Granny Apple Green ink.  I carried one of those images to the inside as well so that this is a really special card to say hello.

The multi-colored flower image was made by applying ink from Stampin' Write Markers directly to the stamp and then pressing onto the cardstock.  I used Old Olive (to blend but not match the Granny Apple Green), Mango Melody, and Magenta Madness.  And I did add Wink of Stella to all the flowers.

Magenta Madness, one of the 2020-2022 In Colors, is an "in your face" bold, hot pink.  It's perfect here, and I actually found this color scheme in the Stampin' Up! In Color Coach Chart here.  I mixed and matched a bit, but I find that all the colors in the Stampin' Up! Color Coaches work well together.

The coordinating dies for Ranunculus Romance Bundle are really outstanding, and I'll be sharing projects that feature them in the days ahead.  For today's card, I used just one leaflet die and cut it to add texture to my hello card.
