Pleasant Pheasants-Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek

Alaska Blog HopWelcome to the August installment of Alaska Achievers Blog Hop where achieving Stampin' Up! demonstrators get together online to share our Incentive Trip highlights and Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog sneak peeks. I'm so glad you're here and hope you enjoy today's projects.  You are at Candy Rattray, sweetstamper.com, and the full list of blogs on this blog hop is at the bottom of my post.

The Alaska Incentive Trip was an absolute pleasure and delight at every single turn.  Each day brought time to connect and laugh with Stampin' Up! friends, time to relax and enjoy the beauty of Alaska with my wonderful husband of 40 years, and pillow gifts ie. spoiling gifts from Stampin' Up!

Oh, my.  It was a truly amazing time.  By the time we docked in Seattle at the end of the cruise, my cup was truly running over with joy and a deep sense of peace and contentment.

Today's project is one I featured on my weekly Tuesday at 2 Facebook Live video.  You can catch see every week at facebook.com/sweetstamper.  My Live airs every Tuesday at 2PM CDT, and I would love for you to join us!  I demonstrated how easy it is to watercolor with Stampin' Up! Watercolor Pencils.

Pleasant Pheasants rubberstamp set is one of the gorgeous new line-art rubberstamp sets in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog 2018.  In addition, I used 2 items that are only available this month:

  • Stitched Seasons Framelit Dies
  • Watercolor Pencils #2

The frames in Stitched Seasons Framelit Dies are must-haves IMHO.  You will want to get yours before the end of August so you can use them for fall, the holidays, and beyond.

Rich jewel tones of Merry Merlot and Shaded Spruce are my card stock choices to complement my pheasants.  What do you think???

Although I used the "Happy Thanksgiving" greeting that is part of Pleasant Pheasants rubberstamp set, this would also make an excellent masculine birthday card.  Just switch out the greeting.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  All Stampin' Up! supplies are listed and linked to my online store below for your convenience.  Remember that I have a great Gift With Purchase for you this month when you place an order of $50.

Blended Seasons Bundle-Fall Card

Remarkably Created Blog HopWelcome to the Remarkably Created Blog Hop where Stampin' Up! demonstrators, enjoying business training with the amazing leader Janet Wakeland, have teamed up to bring you creative inspiration using Blended Seasons Bundle.  If you follow my blog at all, you know that I've been sharing this fabulous bundle all month here, here, and here.

I've definitely been in a fall mood whilst creating, and today's card centers on the falling leaves stamped image and leaf dies.  Stampin' Up! has unparalleled product coordination, taking the guess work out of creativity and making our projects look awesome with fun vs frustration.  Blended Seasons Bundle is a perfect example of Stampin' Up! product coordination.

blendedseasonsbundlestampinupcandyrattray

Blended Seasons Free GiftI love how the stitched label dies layer together.  And look how the die makes the stitching even on the heavier Watercolor Paper!  Blended Seasons Bundle is truly a must-have for your crafting stash.  Treat yourself to these awesome creative goodies!

For today's card, I chose a simple fall color combination:
Color Combo-Fall

Quick tip:  When using an aqua painter, allow one color to dry on the paper before adding another color.  This allows you to have separate colors.  Otherwise they all combine to form the color of mud!

Al Stampin' Up! supplies are listed and linked below for your convenience.  If you don't already have a demonstrator, head over to my online store and treat yourself to some creative goodies.  Be sure to use host code JRZWHY7S to receive my free gifts this month:  20-card tutorial using Blended Seasons when you purchase the bundle + an embellishment assortment (all from me) and $5 coupons with every $50 you spend from Stampin' Up!.  That's a lot of free!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I'll be back tomorrow with more creative inspiration, so please come back.  In the meantime, head on over to the next blog on the blog hop--Leonie Schroder--and you will see another great Blended Seasons Bundle project!

Very Vintage Host Stamp Set

veryvintagehoststampsetstampinupcandyrattray
I am loving the host stamp sets in this year's Stampin' Up! annual catalog, and today's card features Very Vintage host stamp set in an elegant card.  Host stamp sets are exclusive sets you can only access with an order of $150 or more.  That can be your own order or a combination of orders from friends.  An order of $150 generates $15 in free host dollars.  That is what you use to purchase host stamp sets--which are priced very low as an additional reward for large orders.

Quick and easy cards can still be elegant as shown here.  Elements like vellum, rhinestones, and tulle ribbon combine with the lush Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper and a deep, rich color palette to deliver understated elegance.

I created this card for my monthly free card class in San Antonio.  Sip & Stamp happens on the 2nd Thursday of each month at the lovely Garden Tea Lounge which is at the back of Craftiques Mall.  That means you can do some really fun shopping after you make a card with us!  RSVP now.  (When you RSVP, there's a link to the map for Garden Tea Lounge.)

We meet this week, so if you are looking for rubberstamps in San Antonio, join us for my free card class where we make a single card and share creativity and chatter in just one hour.  I like to think of Sip & Stamp as a bit of creative respite in the middle of the work week:)

Stitched Seasons Framelit Dies Christmas Card Idea

mistletoeseasonsstitchedseasonsframelitdiesstampinupcandyrattray

I just finished my first Christmas Card Class of the season and had so much fun creating designs using Mistletoe Seasons stamp set.  For today's share, I paired it with the smallest label from the Stitched Seasons Framelit Dies.

Let me point out just a few things about my card:

1.  Although Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Papers features Real Red and Old Olive, I brightened things up a bit by using Lemon Lime Twist for my card base and Poppy Parade for my focal point label.  I love these bright colors and am so happy about the way they blend with the DSP.

2.  I have a wee bit of a "fancy fold" in that the top of the card opens up about 3/4 of the way down.

3.  The elements from Stitched Seasons are the tag focal point as well as that sweet gold foil bow.  I love both die cuts!  Look at the stitching on that label--it adds a great bit of texture and interest.

That's it for today as it's a busy week, and I need to quit yakking!  LOL!  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  All Stampin' Up! supplies are listed and linked to my online store below for your convenience.  And remember, I have a great Free Gift with Purchase of $50 offer this month--see below for details.

Blended Seasons Free Tutorials Gift--20 Projects!

blendedseasonsfreegiftstampinupcandyrattray

Yesterday I shared about the fabulous new Blended Seasons Bundle.  I have a really outstanding gift for you when you purchase the bundle with me this month:  20 FREE project tutorials.  I'm part of a Stampin' Up! Leaders Co-Op Group where top achievers produce tutorials and share with one another.  I have TWENTY for you--absolutely free.  One of those tutorials is my own, and it is for the handmade card I featured yesterday here on my blog.

But wait, there's more!!!! LOL!  Use the hostess code JRZWHY7S and you will also get a free embellishment sampling in the mail from me. AND, you will receive a $5 coupon from Stampin' Up! to redeem anytime during September.  (Stampin' Up! Bonus Days Promotion gives you a $5 coupon for every $50 you spend in August--no limit on how many coupons you can earn!.

For today's fall card, I went for an all neutrals color palette with just a touch of So Saffron.

blendedseasonsbundlestampinupcandyrattray

  1. For this card, I used a 4" x 3" piece of Soft Suede, ran it through the Big Shot with the smallest Stitched Seasons Framelit Die creating a window.  I sponged the outside of the piece as well as along the stitched window.  That gave my window a rich look.
  2. Then I took a 4" x 3" piece of Whisper White and tucked it behind the frame for a reference point on where to position the words.  I stamped the words in Soft Suede and then removed the window and random stamped the wheat sheafs.
  3. I stamped one and then kept going without re-inking the stamp.  I colored in the wheat with So Saffron and Crumb Cake markers and then adhered the frame directly over the Whisper White card stock and popped that up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Quick and easy but pretty!

I hope you're falling in love with Blended Seasons Bundle like I have.  I have so many free goodies you can get this month when you purchase it, so it's a win-win!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  All Stampin' Up! supplies are listed and linked to my online store below for your convenience.  Don't forget to use host code JRZWHY7S when placing your Stampin' Up! order to get my freebies!

Blended Seasons Bundle-- Limited Time Products

Blended Seasons Bundle-Candy RattrayHello August!  I'm so glad you're here since that means the scorching heat of San Antonio living will be over fairly soon!  School will start, cooler weather and football season will follow, and the fabulousness of fall will begin!

Stampin' Up! is helping us get through the dog days of summer with TWO exciting promotions.  One of those is the incredibly gorgeous Blended Seasons Bundle and NEW Watercolor Pencils--all items are available through August only.  (We did get a tip that the Watercolor Pencils, Assortment 2, may show up in a later catalog:)  I'm hoping to see them in the spring catalog aka Occasions!)

For today's share, I have a handmade card using my favorite new Stampin' Up! core color--Petal Pink.  And I used the Blended Seasons stamps alone.  I'll share another card tomorrow that uses both the stamps and dies.  But I like to show the features of the stamps, the dies, and then both together because there is so much versatility in these creative products.

Blended Seasons is a red rubber stamp set.  Click here to see all the stamps in the set as well as the dies and watercolor pencils.

Blendedseasonsstampinupcandyrattray

Let me point out just a few things in my handmade card, and then I'll list and link all the products used.

  • Petal Pink card stock and coordinating Subtles Designer Series Paper formed the perfect, soft background for my flowers.
  • I actually used the Watercolor Pencils in the main catalog--not the new ones.  My aim was to show that you can use what you already have and still create a beautiful project.  Although Petal Pink is not in the set of original Watercolor Pencils, I used Calypso Coral and colored very lightly.  I then spread the color with Blender Pen to achieve the soft color that works beautifully with my Subtles color scheme.
  • Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins are my favorite new embellishment in the new catalog.  The colors are gorgeous--I think there are 5--and versatile.  I used the greenish ones here and they blend beautifully with my project.  They add lots of subtle shine and pizzazz but not bulk, so my card still mails for a single stamp:)

Although Blended Seasons is available through August, notice the fine print that it is while supplies last.  Order your bundle early to save disappointment!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  All Stampin' Up! supplies are listed and linked to my online store below for your convenience.  Come back tomorrow for more Blended Seasons inspiration!

For today's share, we continue to dig into the new Stampin' Up! catalog. I have a bold color combo provided by Stampin' Up! in their very helpful Color Combo document which gives 3 different color combos for every single new core color.  With the Color Revamp, many of us are still finding our way with the new colors.  This document is a fantastic FREE tool you can download here.

I would never have come up with this color combo on my Rootedinnaturestampinupcandyrattray own!  I love how the Stampin' Up! artists do the heavy lifting for us so we can just have fun and create!  I shared this card in last week's Tuesday@2, my weekly Facebook Live.  Check out my Facebook.com/sweetstamper page here and like it so you will get to see my weekly videos.  They are just 30 minutes of stamping fun with prizes each week.  I would love for you to join us!

Summer Scrapbook Pages with Tropical Escape Designer Papers

summerscrapbookpagestropicalchicdspstampinupcandyrattray
One of the things I love most about Stampin' Up! Designer Series Papers is the awesome color schemes that make it quick and easy to create great projects, and I'll be sharing DSP ideas all month as we are in the Buy 1, Get 3 Free promotion.

My summer scrapbook pages with Tropical Escape Designer Papers are bright, cheery, and fun.  I chose a totally neutral and dark background via Basic Black 12 x 12 card stock to make the bright colors really pop.  And don't be afraid of pinks on scrapbook pages that feature guys!  There are pink flowers all around us, plus those pinks tend to pick up skin tones.

We made this 12 x 12 layout in June with my scrapbook club in San Antonio.  You can read all about the scrapbook club here--you can join anytime, so come on out and scrap with us!

summerscrapbookpagesstampinupcandyrattray

Let me point out just a few things about my summer scrapbook pages:

  1. Large Letters Thinlit Dies are a must-have for any scrapbooker!  Here, I punched them out from Granny Apple Green card stock and then ran them through again with the Quilt Top Embossing Folder.  The subtle texture on the letters gives interest to my title.  This is how you can really rock customized looks for your scrapbook pages!  Little touches can make a big difference:)
  2. Pocketful of Sunshine photopolymer stamp set and coordinating Pocket Framelit Dies work so well on scrapbook pages.  Sunglasses and pockets are perfectly sized for handmade cards as well as scrapbook pages for fantastic versatility.  Choosing colors for them is a bit like playing paper dolls and so much fun!  Additional dies in the set provide even more versatile options.
  3. Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins are my absolute favorite new embellishment in the new Stampin' Up! Catalog.  Again, versatility is one reason I love them.  Ease of use is the other since they are adhesive-backed.  Quick, easy, and done!  Just scatter them across any project for a bit of shine.

That's it for today and my summer scrapbook pages.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  All Stampin' Up! supplies are listed and linked to my online store below for your convenience.  And remember that you can Buy 3, Get 1 Free on select Designer Series Papers all month!  Just do it!

Rooted in Nature Card Idea with Feminine Colors

rootedinnaturestampinupcandyrattrayToday I'm sharing a quick and easy card with plenty of pizzazz thanks to the Rooted in Nature Bundle as well as the drop dead gorgeous Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper.  My Rooted in Nature card idea sprang from the amazing colors in Nature's Poem DSP--leaves and nature images can take on a decidedly feminine look by using a feminine color scheme.

Here are a few things to note about my Rooted in Nature card idea:

  1. My card base is one of the new Stampin' Up! core colors--Petal Pink.  There are sooo many awesome new colors, but I think Petal Pink is my absolute favorite!  It's a soft, peachy pink and is so versatile and just plain lovely.  I'm not usually in love with subtle colors.  Petal Pink has won my heart:)  Stampin' Up! paired it with Blackberry Bliss in Nature's Poem DSP for a bold contrast that draws you back again and again.
  2. My die-cut leaflets are made from my favorite of the shiny papers:  Copper Foil Sheet.  The dies that are part of the Rooted in Nature Bundle have an element in 3 of the leaf dies that will cut out AND emboss your leaves.  Brilliant!
  3. I have a penchant for one-ink cards.  Blackberry Bliss ink pad is the only one I used on this card!  Stamp several times without re-inking to get multiple, beautiful shades of loveliness:)

Hand Delivered, Stampin' Up! Host Exclusive Stamp Set

I abshanddeliveredstampinupcandyrattrayolutely love the Host Exclusive stamp sets in the 2018/2019 Stampin' Up! catalog, and Hand Delivered is my favorite.  I truly adore the images and inherent versatility and creative options.

I created this handmade card for my recent Training Event (for team members) and Stamp Camp in San Antonio (for customers).  I do an all-day stamping event at the launch of every new catalog, including our seasonal ones.  Save the date, as my next one is September 15th for demonstrators and September 22nd for customers where we will be digging into the newly released Holiday Catalog.  Yes, the holidays will be upon us in no time:)  Click here for my full online calendar of events.

Okay, onto my handmade card featuring Hand Delivered Stampin' Up! host exclusive stamp set.  Here's the full set so you can see all the images and greetings.

Hand Delivered

Notice the empty sign (with the lady's hands:) which you can, of course, customize with the greeting of your choice and even add a few flowers like I did.

Look at all the skirt options!  I love being able to choose stripes (as shown in my card), flowers, or solid.  This brings back very fond memories of paper dolls.

But wait, there's more!  LOL!  Look at the options that the lady can carry!  Although I have my lady holding a sign, she can also hold a bouquet of balloons, a stack of books, or a gorgeous cake.  Talk about fun to use! I love options when I create, and Hand Delivered host exclusive stamp set...delivers!

How do you get your own Hand Delivered host exclusive stamp set and start creating with it?  You can only purchase it with host rewards.  These are free dollars you receive when your order(s) reaches $150 in merchandise total (before tax and shipping). There are 3 ways for that to happen:

  1. Place a personal order of at least $150--treat yourself to creative play things.
  2. Gather orders from friends and combine them with yours to total at least $150.
  3. Host a stamping party/gathering that generates at least $150 in orders. You can do that in person, live, or online via a Facebook party or a Facetime party.  In that case, we book a date, and I bring the entertainment!

Host rewards begin at $15 and increase with the dollar amount of orders.  Host rewards can be used on anything at all.  But the host exclusive stamp sets are only available through host rewards.  Hand Delivered is just $13 in host rewards money, leaving you $2 to use on some cute twine or adhesive or other small item.  All that is free--including shipping--you just pay the tax and any amount over your allotted free rewards.  Does that make sense?  If not, feel free to email me:  candy@sweetstamper.com. Host rewards are FANTASTIC, and once you understand the way they work, you will love getting them and maximizing your dollars for crafty fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  All Stampin' Up! supplies are listed and linked to my online store below for your convenience.  Ta!1!
