Winter Woods Christmas Card

Greece Blog Hop
Welcome to the Greek Isles Trip Achiever Blog Hop where achieving demonstrators from all over the world share their projects in a fun blog hop for your creative inspiration and enjoyment.  You are at Candy Rattray, sweetstamper.com.  If you should get lost at any point in the blog hop, the full, linked list of blog hoppers is at the bottom of this post.

I absolutely adore the Winter Woods Bundle!  And as much as I love the coordinating dies, today's handmade Christmas card uses just the Winter Woods Rubberstamp set.  This card is fun to make and has a real wow effect:)  I have a free pdf tutorial for you below.

I have just a few things about today's card to point out:

  1. By using a simple watercolor wash on the background of Shimmery White Cardstock, you have the perfect backdrop for these lovely evergreen trees.
  2. Stamping the trees a few times without re-inking gives the appearance of dimension as well as various shades of green.  That means my forest is made very quickly!
  3. Gold heat embossing is the perfect touch for holiday cards.  I love its classic elegance.

This card comes together quickly and easily--that's the way I roll:)  And that's it for today.  Click here for the free pdf tutorial.  And scroll to the bottom of this post for the list of Stampin' Up! supplies used.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Be sure to head to the next blog on the hop by seeing the lineup below and simply clicking.

Snow is Glistening with Champagne and Copper!

Snow is Glistening photopolymer stamp set is a limited-time release stamp set available during November only.  It is just gorgeous, and I made these cards on my Tuesday@2 Facebook Live this week.  We did a little virtual designing during the Live with people weighing in on their choice of colors and elements for the cards.  I think we did a great job collectively!  The coordinating Snowfall Thinlits dies are a must-have for your crafty collection and are also available only during November.  You can see our virtual design session and the demonstration of making these two snowflake cards here on the video on my facebook.com/sweetstamper page.

Let me point out just a few things about the snowflake cards here:

  1. Both use a Crumb Cake Cardstock card base, the same piece of All is Bright Designer Series Paper (bokeh dots one one side, pinecones on the other), and Soft Suede ink. Then we changed things up a bit!
  2. I love stamping directly on Designer Series Paper!  Try it--you will love it, too!
  3. All-neutral palettes bring class to just about any project.  Unexpected touches like copper and champagne keep things from becoming boring.
  4. Use the Precision Base Plate when die-cutting super intricate pieces like these.  Your die-cuts will come out with ease.
  5. Click here for pdf tutorial.

Again, they are only available during November, so don't wait to order yours!  Use my November Host Code to receive the following thank you gifts:

  • With any size order, receive my Snow is Glistening Tutorial Bundle with 15 projects.
  • With a $50+ order, receive the tutorial bundle plus Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins to add bling without bulk to your projects!

Join me every Tuesday @ 2 PM CST for my live video tutorials.  We have fun stamping together virtually!

Pleasant Pheasants Fall Card with Copper Embossing

I featured this Pleasant Pheasants fall card on my Tuesday's @ 2 Facebook Live this week.   If you missed it, you can catch that quick video tutorial here.  I knew when I saw these peasants in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog that they would make for fun crafting and gorgeous cards.  I previously shared another Pleasant Pheasants card--watercolored with Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens--here on my blog.

pleasantpheasantsrubberstampsetstampinupcandyrattraythanksgivingcardFor today's share, I did a simple heat embossing of the entire pheasants image.  The artwork in Pleasant Pheasants rubberstamp set is outstanding with excellent detail.  It lends itself very nicely to heat embossing.  My favorite for heat embossing is copper, and I love to pair copper with pinks and purples.  Here, I added Blackberry Bliss and Tranquil tide, keying into the natural colors found in some varieties of pheasants and much of nature during the autumn season.

I have a free tutorial here you can download for making my Pleasant Pheasants Fall Card with Copper Embossing.  It's actually a quick and easy card, but there is plenty of wow to make this a stunner!  Swap out the greeting, and you have yourself a great masculine birthday or congratulations card.

That's it for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I urge you to head over to my facebook.com/sweetstamper page and like it so you can see my free weekly Tuesday's @ 2 Facebook Lives. They happen every Tuesday at 2PM CDT.  I hope to see you there!

Halloween Scrapbook Pages-Warm Hearted Stamps with Toil & Trouble DSP

halloweenscrapbookagesscrapbookclubinsanantonio, onlinescrapbookclub
My Scrapbook Club in San Antonio is a wrap for October, and this is our 2 page layout that we made with a Halloween theme featuring the awesome Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper and Warm Hearted stamps in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  I always have pics of grandkids to scrapbook for Halloween.  And even if I didn't have young grandchildren, there is a block party on my street each year with neighbors connecting over shared food, fun costumes, and candy for the kiddos.  Many people enjoy some sort of Halloween celebrations, so Halloween scrapbook pages happen every year for me:)

halloweenscrapbookpagesstampinupcandyrattrayThis year, I went with a super simple scrapbook layout featuring color blocks.  These make for really easy scrapbooking since you can easily arrange photos of various sizes and fit in as many or few as you like.  Let me share just a few things about my scrapbook pages.

  1. The Boo stamp is from a host exclusive stamp set (Warm Hearted) and is actually a 2-stamp process.  That allows me to bring 2 oranges into my boo, the Cajun Craze providing an excellent shadow to the brighter Pumpkin Pie.  Add some of the gorgeous new glimmer paper for a bit of shine behind the words, and you have a terrific little scrapbook embellishment with plenty of versatility.  This is my favorite part of scrapbooking with stamps!  Ultimate customization!
  2. I combined my designer series paper patterns using both large (pumpkins) and small (cats and stars) patterns and offsetting them with plenty of solid color card stock for a pleasing look that will nicely complement my photos.
  3. I don't have any actual, designated journaling spaces in this 2 page layout. But there is plenty of room in my Pumpkin Pie color blocks for writing notes!

Are you looking for some scrappy friends?  Do you like scrapbooking with others and want to meet some other scrappers?  Click here for my scrapbook club in San Antonio for complete information.  Please note:  there is an online scrapbook club option/scrapbook pages by mail.   My scrapbooking style, like my card-making style, is quick and easy.  I find this works best for my busy, modern life and would love to include you!

Quick and Easy Halloween Treats-Labels to Love

Labels to Love rubberstamp set is one of those really versatile greeting sets that has you covered for most holidays.  For today's quick and easy Halloween treat, it's the perfect finishing touch.  And I have a free tutorial to share!

This is another of the quick and easy Halloween treats I shared on my Tuesdays @ 2 Facebook Live last week.  Click here to see the demonstration of TWO quick and easy Halloween treats, including this one.  I love the Stampin' Up! cello bags because the quality of the cello is lovely--it crunches!--and food-safe.  Because they are food-safe, I have options of putting unwrapped treats inside or wrapped ones.  I like that kind of versatility and freedom to choose what is best for any particular situation.

I also like this particular treat packaging because it is the epitome of quick and easy.  It comes together soooo quickly and utilizes Designer Series Paper to its advantage.  Most of us crafters have plenty of pretty paper!  LOL!  Click here for the free tutorial.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you make some Halloween Treats this year--just put some cute packaging on some treats and watch the smiles come your way!  Be sure to click here to sign up for my weekly email newsletters where I share my stamping world, Stampin' Up! specials, and give free tutorials every month!

Quick and Easy Spooky Sweets Treat--Free Tutorial

I taught a Halloween Treats class in September and had so much fun making cute packaging for Halloween treats.  I love taking a simple treat and making it special.  Typically, I need to make quite a few of these, so they have to be quick and easy to make...and fun!  Stress free, fun crafting!

This is often called a "sour cream packet" because a looooong time ago (maybe the 70s?), individual sour cream packets were shaped thus.  They were a staple on baked potato bars and restaurants--little individual packets of sour cream, all sealed up to stay fresh.  That is how the term originated...and then stuck!  So I have made a sour cream packet with little treats inside:)

I demonstrated this on my weekly Tuesdays @ 2 Facebook Live post last week.  Click here to see that show!   Although I'm sharing the free pdf tutorial here, click on the Facebook Live link to watch the demonstration.

What are you doing for Halloween this year?  I don't do spooky, but I do enjoy bringing joy to people.  Halloween brings out the kid in all of us.  Even if your kids are grown, if your grandkids don't live near, if you don't really have young children in your life any longer--I challenge you to make some cute Halloween treats.  Then watch the smiles come!  You can make someone's day and bring just a bit of sunshine to them:)  Just do it!
